Ather Energy has received approval to sell its electric scooters on the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) portal, thus providing access to eligible Armed Forces personnel, veterans, and their families to purchase Ather products from the platform starting from September 2026.

Ather Scooters Available on CSD

The CSD is a government operated retail network running under the Ministry of Defense that allows the Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families to purchase a variety of products including vehicles at an affordable price. The vehicles purchased through the CSD channels are also subjected to GST concessions.

Ather has become the first two-wheeler manufacturer in India to list its products on the CSD platform. Out of the entire portfolio, eight variants from the Ather 450 performance scooter range and the Rizta family lineup is available to purchase on the channel. However, the sports-oriented Ather 450 Apex will not be available via CSD.

The eligible consumers can purchase the listed Ather products with manufacture-offered benefits, which will apply additionally to the applicable GST concessions available on CSD purchases. However, the exact offers depend on the model and variant.

The CSD listing will increase Ather’s sales to eligible defense consumers and provide them an appropriate channel to purchase their electric scooters.
