Ather introduces Pothole+ Alerts for its Gen 2 scooters.
Ather Energy has introduced a new feature called as Pothole+ alerts for Gen 2 and newer electric scooters. This new feature will be also available on other models like 450 Apex, 450X, and Rizta Z. This feature will be rolled out via software update and will use connected vehicle data to alert riders about upcoming potholes and uneven roads.
Ather Pothole+ Alerts to Feature Connected Fleet Data
This feature provides visual warnings on the scooter’s dashboard the moment it detects potholes, broken roads, uneven surfaces and speed breakers. The riders can also receive audio alerts via the scooter’s speakers, Ather Halo smart helmet, or a connected bluetooth earpiece, which helps them to keep their focus on the road.
AdvertisementAther has stated that this system is equipped with road intelligence and uses anonymised data collected from the connected scooter fleet. According to the company, the software can seamlessly identify road hazards and notify riders before they reach them.

Ather first displayed Pothole+ Alerts feature at its Community Day 2025 event. The CEO of Ather Energy, Tarun Mehta expressed his views by a post on X and confirmed that the company has started rolling out the feature and it will take time to fully develop as it requires a large dataset from the brand’s connected vehicles before the alerts could be accurate and reliable enough to be used in real-time traffic conditions.
The rollout will come via software update and currently is limited to Gen 2 and newer scooters which includes 450 Apex, 450X, and Rizta Z.
