BMW i5 Service Schedule & Cost Details

The BMW i5 follows a Condition Based Service (CBS), which helps to lower the service costs. Due to regenerative braking, the wear and tear is almost non-existent, bringing down the total costs to Rs 25,000.

Every 12 Months: A complete multi-point inspection, software updates, and check-up of the cabin air filter, 12V battery, and the washer fluid.

Every 24 Months: Check-up of High-Voltage cooling and coolant top-up with a replacement of brake fluid.

Key Maintenance

  • Cabin Micro-Filter: It is replaced to ensure clear air filtration through the climate control system.
  • 12V Auxiliary Battery: It is tested for its overall health as it powers the primary vehicle electronics and computers.

  • Tyres (35,000 - 50,000 Km): The i5 has a kerb weight of over 2,100 Kg. This heavy weight is pulled through instant torque of the electric motors, which makes degradation of tires faster on Indian roads as compared to a traditional ICE car.
  • Brake Pads & Discs (Long Life): Due to regeneration, the electric motors mainly handles the braking by deceleration. Due to this, your physical brakes experience minimal friction and that’s why they last longer than standard ICE cars.
  • Suspension & Underbody: Due to low-mounted battery pack and Indian road conditions with uneven bumps and potholes, it is important to have a proper check-up of alignment, bushings, and underbody protective plates.
