BYD has upgraded the Atto 3, featuring a larger battery, extended range, and greater power.
BYD has upgraded a mid-lifecycle facelift for the Atto 3 with a revised exterior in February 2025, but there were no mechanical changes. But after one year, the Chinese manufacturer has revealed the changes and added a new ‘Evo’ suffix to the electric SUV.
The addition of the new suffix BYD Atto 3 Evo brings a larger battery pack and has switched from four-wheel-drive to a rear one and adds an option of all-wheel drive AWD option.

The battery size has been considerably increased from 60.5 kWh to 74.8 kWh and the claimed WLTP range is 510 km, which is 92 km increased from the previous 418 Km. Its repositioned electric motor generates a maximum power of 313 Hp and a peak torque of 380 Nm, which is around 109 Hp and 70 Nm more than the older.

400V to 800V Upgrade
The Atto 3 is now shifted to 800V electric architecture, which has increased its peak charging capability to 220 kW. Due to this, charging time has improved and in spite of the bigger battery. Earlier, it used to take around 29 minutes to charge from 30-80%.
But now it takes 25 minutes to charge from 10-80%. The new battery is also equipped with vehicle-to-load or V2L functionality, thus making the Atto 3 as a power source to power external devices at up to 3 kW. The shifting of motors has helped BYD to attach five-link multi-link rear suspension, replacing the older four-link setup.
This revised layout has also added 50 litres of additional boot space, taking the total capacity to 490 litres. There is also an inclusion of a 101-litre frunk placed under the bonnet. The new Atto 3 also gets updated software.
