The Vahan Data has finally released the EV sales of February 2026 with 13,669 total electric cars sold. The month of February has shown significant decline but it shows a strong 44% Year-on-Year growth over February 2025’s 9,479 units.

The overall sales declined significantly by 28% as compared to January 2026’s 18,993 units. The shocking part is that February 2026 sales are the lowest monthly sales ever witnessed after the June 2025 timeline.

Best Selling EVs in February 2026

February Sales Projections

  • Tata Motors has solidified its position at Number one position in EV Sales by selling 5,558 EVs which is significantly up by 39% YoY from 4,002 units sold in February 2025. 
  • MG secured the second position in February 2026 with 24% market share by registering sales of 3,310 EVs sold during the month. This leads to a 5% YoY decline as compared to 3,489 units sold in February 2025. 
  • Mahindra & Vinfast are at 3rd and 4th spots respectively with Mahindra retailing 2,913 e-SUVs in February and Vinfast selling 384 units of its two e-SUVs in February 2026. 

February 2026 EV sales

  • BYD is at fifth spot by achieving 306 EV sales in the last month showing a growth of 82-unit MoM (Month-on-Month) increase over January’s 224 units. Hyundai and its parent company Kia are at sixth and seven positions respectively. 
  • Maruti has made a new entry with e Vitara into the mass-market segment and started their sales with 214 units last month, providing it a market share of 1.56% of total EVs sold.
