Our AllAboutEVs team did an ownership review of a dedicated owner who had clocked more than 18,000 Km in just nine months with its top of the line Creta Electric Excellence LR. He gave us real insights about the Creta EV real world range and features with performance and everyday reliability. 

Why did he choose Creta Electric?

The Creta Electric was not a first choice for the owner initially, as he was doubtful that it was not made on a pure electric platform and was an electric version of the petrol counterpart. But after doing careful analysis of other family-oriented electric cars, he ended up buying the top-spec Creta Electric.

Creta Electric Standout Features for City & Highway

City Driving: According to the user, living with Creta Electric is pure brilliance crafted with modern technology. He would often use the iPedal for daily city commutes as with this technology, it is very easy to navigate in traffic as it makes the driving easy with a single-pedal driving.

It also comes with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and Safe Exit Warning, with this the car keeps on supporting your driving especially in tight urban places.

Highway Driving: The user stated that on highways, he used to switch on the Auto Regen mode, which automatically adjusts braking depending on the traffic conditions and road potholes, making long highway drives absolutely comfortable yet seamless.According to the user, highway driving is even more engaging with the integration of Lane Follow Assist (LFA) and High Beam Assist, making long highway journeys a comfortable experience. The Creta Electric is also equipped with V2L (Vehicle-To-Load) capability, as the owner even used an interior 3-pin socket to charge the laptop while working remotely and powered up lights during home power outages.

Creta Electric Performance & Real-World Range

One of the most crucial factors while deciding EVs is the real-world range because range anxiety is one of the biggest fears of EV buyers. The user told us that after clocking a 1,000 km adventurous journey through steep ghats, the Creta Electric emerged as a highway mile muncher, as the car provided an exceptional efficiency of 7.9 Km/kWh. 

This converts to an impressive real-world range of 406 Km on a single charge. One of the interesting parts is the instant torque which helped the user to climb steep inclines with ease ensuring quick and confident overtakes as compared to the conventional ICE engine.

Creta Electric Service & What could Be Better?

As the car is approaching close to 20,000 Km, there is absolutely no wear and tear on the Creta Electric. The user was quite happy with the service and was satisfied with the overall service. Due to regenerative braking, the brake pad life is excellent and tyre treads are perfectly fine despite the aggressive driving by the owner. 

However, the user also faced several difficulties and noted some areas for improvement. 

• Opt-In Tech: Many features like the i-Pedal and LFA need to be manually enabled every time you start the car, which is quite frustrating. 
• Missing 100kW Charging: The company claiming to provide 2C fast charging is delayed which is eagerly awaited by the owners. 

• Headlight Timeout: The ‘Guide Me Home’ lights turn off quickly while plugging the car at night.

The user was genuinely impressed by the kind of reliability Hyundai Creta Electric provides. From addition of various next-generation features like ADAS to predictable charging, the seamless experience has made this electric SUV a joy to own. Thus it is a beautiful combination of modern technology with everyday usability.
