JSW MG Motors is set to introduce the MG Eksion-based electric SUV aimed at rivaling XEV 9S.
JSW MG Motors recently launched ADAPT BEV/hybrid platform, which has the capability to support multiple powertrains. According to sources, it has been confirmed that the first model will be directly competing with Mahindra XEV 9S and is expected to launch in August 2026.
As per sources, JSW MG Motors is looking for a competitive pricing to position its electric SUV, in order to undercut the XEV 9S 70 kWh priced at Rs 25.8 lakh (Ex-Showroom).

The JSW MG electric SUV is expected to be powered by a 69 kWh battery pack with an official range of 600 km on a single charge. The company is looking to smartly position their upcoming electric SUV in the 70 kWh sweet spot of the XEV 9S.

The Eksion comes with a single electric motor generating maximum power output of 201 Hp and peak torque of 310 Nm. The Eksion comes paired with a front motor, front-wheel drive layout.

Dimension-wise, the Wuling Eksion measures 4.7 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.7 meters in height. It also comes with 7-seat configurations, making it ideal for the buyers with large families.
The Eksion has a traditional boxy-type design with an upright stance and an upright rear-end. The interiors are crafted with sophisticated design featuring a 12.8-inch touchscreen highlighting the dashboard. Other features include a digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and powered tail-gate expected for India launch.
Eksion-Based Plug-in Hybrid SUV Expected Launch
JSW MG Motors will continue to introduce SUVs next year too with the launch of their plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of the SUV. The company will retain the overall shape with the BEV, but will come with different styling cues.

POWER: The PHEV will be the second model based on the ADAPT platform and is expected to be powered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine generating 105 Hp of max power and 130 Nm of torque integrated with an electric motor generating 195 Hp and 230 Nm with a 20.5 kWh battery pack.
