The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EV has been unveiled, generating 1,169 HP.
Mercedes-Benz is all set to enter a new dimension with its state-of-the-art new four-door sports car, and will be the first model to use 800V AMG.EA platform with axial-flux motors. It will also feature up to 600 kW of DC fast charging, thus charging it in 10-80% in just 11 minutes, which is blazing fast.
It also projects two different modes. In its stirring mode, the all-electric hypercar will generate a sound of V8, not like a synthesised hum, but a carefully crafted, patent pending sound of the old AMG V8 growl integrated with haptic gear-shift interruptions that simulate twin-clutch transmission. It even displays a tachometer that mimics revs, thus bringing back the ICE charm in a modern EV.

POWER: On paper, the AMG GT 4-Door coupe is just legendary as the GT 63 model generates a maximum power output of 1,169 HP. According to Mercedes, the 0-100 km/hr takes just 2.1 seconds with launch control activated, and a 0-200 km/hr comes in just 6.4 seconds. The lesser GT 55 generates 816 Hp.

The drivetrain technology is revolutionary yet new as it is the first electric car in the world to use axial-flux motors. In a traditional radial motor, the electromagnetic flux runs perpendicular to the axis of rotation. However, in axial-flux design, it runs parallel to the rotation.
AMG has co-manufactured these motors with YASA, a British specialist which acquired it in 2021. At the rear axle, the two motors are attached in a shared housing approx 8 cm wide, while the front measures 9 cm.
The battery pack is equally innovative engineering as it is built around 800V architecture as it contains 2,660 cylindrical cells coupled in electrically non-conductive oil, in a direct-cooling arrangement that allows the car to produce and absorb charge at incredible speeds.

2026 Mercedes AMG-GT 4-Door Coupe Exterior Design
Overall the design has been crafted with simple yet straightforward sports car proportions. The front-end is AMG-focussed as it features a concave grille with vertical slats, optionally illuminated, centered by a lil Mercedes star flanked by headlights carrying distinctive star headlights with daytime running signature.
At the rear, the active rear diffuser just glides in at the touch of a command keeping it with the car’s racing character. Overall the body is long, wide and lower than the outgoing V8 car, with a less drag coefficient of 0.22. It boasts a kerb weight of 2,460 Kg.
The new AMG is an example of technological brilliance and is the most advanced performance EV to be ever engineered.
