The new Mercedes GLC EV has been teased in anticipation of its debut on September 7.

Mercedes latest offering in the EV segment, the Mercedes GLC EV is all set to redefine luxury with its latest EQ technology and has been displayed ahead of its full introduction scheduled at Munich Motor Show on September 7.
While the overall visual appeal of the car is yet to be revealed by the luxury manufacturer, Mercedes has teased an all-new grille design that will be a signature element in their future lineup of cars, and will be introduced for the first time with GLC EV.
New Mercedes GLC EV Design and Interior Highlights
The brand new GLC EV, which is all set to be a next generation model to the EQC will be designed with a bold and a striking illuminated grille, which will be placed at the center of the car’s exterior design garnering all the visual attention. The grille will be minimalist in design and will be comparatively different from the current Mercedes-Benz EQS models.
The new design draws inspiration from the traditional radiator design of the 1902 Mercedes Simplex and older classics such as the 600 Pullman and W 108, the GLC EVs new grille will be designed with a thick chrome surround, featuring a matrix of 942 high-quality backlit LED pixels, displaying various animated graphics highlighting the heritage of Mercedes luxury over the years.
The center of the grille will be incorporated by a bold and imposing illuminated Mercedes-Benz tri-star logo, although the brightness of the logo will be dependent on the region-specific regulations. For example, in countries such as Europe, only the star can be illuminated, leaving apart the surrounding ring. Mercedes will be providing the option of Silver Shadow or Dark Chrome Optic.
Non-Illuminated: There is also an option of a non-illuminated version integrated with smoky white plastic squares, giving a more sophisticated yet a subtle feel.
However, Mercedes has not revealed the exterior details of the next generation GLC EV, but the teaser image has given a glimpse of the grille which gives a sneak peek of sleek, angled LED headlights providing a smoked effect, highlighted with a dark grey trim which is covering the air intakes on the bumper.
New HyperScreen Setup: The interior of the new GLC EV will feature a new version of the Mercedes-Benz MBUX Hyperscreen, which will provide a single large wide curved display that seamlessly gets attached to the dashboard and neatly displays the instrument cluster, infotainment display, and HVAC controls.
The attractive MBUX screens are only featured in EQS and EQE, but the GLC EV will be getting a heavily upgraded version, so we can expect highly attractive visuals, seamless animations and rapid responsive feedback.
Mercedes Benz intends to drop its distinct EQ Branding.
As mentioned above, the upcoming next generation GLC EV will be the brand’s first car in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup from standalone EQ branding, as the manufacturer will be positioning their EV directly into their main lineup with a highlighted EQ branding.
Mercedes Benz will ensure a complete uniformity as homogenisation will be implemented directly in their extensive portfolio, as ICE powered Mercedes-Benz models will be also updated with the new design updates, ensuring a visual consistency across all Mercedes models.
