MG to launch Starlight 560 in India
MG is all set to introduce its Starlight 560 in the Indian market as recently they have patented the design in India. The filing list revealed SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Company Limited as the applicant filing for the design registered in March 2026.
However, the patented images do not reveal Wuling branding, indicating that the model could be rebadged for India by MG Motor India which is a joint venture of SAIC Motor and JSW Group. Visually, the design has a striking resemblance to the international-spec Starlight 560 on sale in the global markets.

The patented model was also spotted testing in India featuring a boxy design language and an upright stance with a large blacked-out grille, squared-off wheel arches and a high bonnet line. The front is equipped with LED DRL strips positioned above and under them.

The SUV also sports 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and also gets roof rails and cladding covering the lower sections. The rear looks like an MPV-inspired design with LED tail-lamps and a roof-mounted spoiler. However, looking at the overall proportions, it will be unchanged and carried over from the international markets.
The SUV is also sold globally with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric (EV) powertrains, although the company has not revealed which powertrain will be coming to India.
MG Starlight 560 Expected India Launch
As per MG Motors, the SUV is expected to launch in the Indian market by October 2026 with MG pricing it aggressively in order to make it accessible to a wider section of the audience.
