Porsche Cayenne Electric Introduced at Rs 1.77 Crore.

Porsche has showcased the Cayenne Electric SUV for the first time. It will be positioned as Porsche’s flagship electric SUV globally and is available in India in two variants: Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric at Rs 1.77 crore and Rs 2.28 crore, respectively. 

Porsche Cayenne Electric Battery & Performance

It will be underpinned by the Volkswagen Group’s 800V Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, as the Cayenne Electric comes powered with a 113 kWh battery pack and dual motors (AWD) as standard. 

POWER: It generates 408 Hp of maximum power output and 750 Nm of peak torque (442 Hp & 835 Nm with Launch Control), while the range-topping Turbo generates 857 Hp and 1,360 Nm of peak torque (1,156 Hp & 1,500 Nm with Launch Control). 

With Launch Control, the base Cayenne Electric can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in just 4.8 seconds, while the top-spec Turbo can achieve the same in 2.5 seconds. It has a claimed top-speed of 230 km/hr, while the Turbo tops it at 260 km/hr. 

CHARGING: The WLTP-certified range figures stands at 642 Km, while for Turbo at 623 Km. It also has an 800V architecture and supports DC fast charging of up to 390 kW, which can charge the battery from 10-80% in just 16 minutes. A 10-min top-up can give 324 Km of range. The Cayenne also gets AC charging of up to 22 kW, with a 0-100% charge in 5.75 hours. 

Porsche Cayenne Electric Design 

The Cayenne Electric comes with the similar design language seen on the smaller Macan Electric. The front features oblong-shaped Matrix LED headlamps equipped with four individual daytime running lights (DRLs) each. 

The bumper is very minimalistic and has a wide air dam integrated with vertically oriented air intakes, along with the addition of discreet black cladding. It also features a 90-litre frunk. On the side, The Cayenne Electric is 55 mm longer than its ICE version. It also gets 22-inch alloy wheels as standard for the Cayenne Electric. 

REAR: The rear of the electric SUV sports a raked roofline and features wraparound clear-lens LED light bar with an illuminated Porsche branding. The rear bumper is solid and gets a blacked-out section with horizontal slats and reflectors.

Porsche Cayenne Features

• The dashboard houses 14.5-inch curved OLED touchscreen placed at the center and a 14.25-inch OLED driver’s display with a three-spoke steering wheel to the side with a 14.9-inch passenger screen available as an optional extra. 

• The center-console also provides a storage space and wireless charging pad underneath with a central tunnel separating the front seats. It also gets ambient lighting and door liners in one of 30 configurable colours. 
• Other features include 10-speaker audio system, 8-way powered and heated front seats, memory function for the driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, cabin air-purifier, powered boot lid, powered rear sunshades, 360-Degree Camera, ADAS, and with a boot space of 781 litres.
