The Sealion 7 is the flagship electric SUV of BYD available at an introductory price of Rs 48.9 lakh and Rs 54.9 lakh (ex-Showroom). The all-electric SUV is equipped with a single 82.56 kWh battery pack available with a single-motor RWD producing 313 Hp and 380 Nm and a powerful dual-motor with a total power output of 530 Hp and 690 Nm.

Our AllAboutEVs team enquired with the user of the dual-motor variant and got to know his real-world range efficiency. We are mentioning his real-world range test and the range he was getting while doing urban commutes and short highway runs.

BYD Real-World Range Test (100% to 0%)

The company claims a range of 542 Km on a single charge for the AWD variant, but the test results of the user showcased different numbers. According to the user, the heavy 2,340 Kg EV provided an real-world efficiency of 4.90 km/kWh in extreme city commutes and 4.17 km/kWh on the highways.Sealion 7 Real-World Range Analysis

RANGE: This provides a real world city range of 400-410 Km and 350 Km of highway range. However, the user also observed something interesting about Sealion 7’s deceleration as just after lifting the accelerator, the vehicle was moving seamlessly just before regenerative braking engages, a second of delay comes.

Regeneration: Talking about the regenerative braking, the user felt comparatively weak as compared to competition like Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW iX1. The Sealion 7 also features a one-pedal driving mode, which ensures the car won’t come to a complete halt while using regenerative braking.
