Tata Power has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from SECI to provide 324 MW of power from its 1000 MW Hydro Storage facility.

Tata Power has achieved a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for the supply of 324 MW power from the 1000 MW Pumped Hydro Storage Project (PSP) situated at Bhivpuri situated in Raigad district of Maharashtra.

The project has been registered under SECI’s Tariff-based Global Competitive Bidding (PSP-I) for supplying 1,500 MW / 12,000 MWh of power generated from pumped hydro storage projects established in the country. 

The project will be developed under the Build, Own, Operate (BOO) model and will provide 8 hours of energy storage, enabling seamless supply of electricity during high demand. It will be connected via 765/400 kV South Kalamb CTU substation, an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). 

The SECI award has solidified Tata Power’s position in long-term energy storage which is termed as India’s fastest growing solar and wind capacity into the grid. 

The awarded capacity has been achieved by the 1000 MW Bhivpuri PSP project and the 1,800 MW Shriwata PSP, with a combined capacity of 2,800 MW. This award aligns with the vision of Tata Power’s clean-energy and its Net Zero 2045 strategy.
