Vinfast VF MPV 7 Real-World Range Test Explained

The VF MPV 7 is the 7-seater electric MPV from Vinfast and comes powered with a 60.13 kWh battery pack. We recently had a talk with the tester of the Vinfast VF MPV 7 in order to know the real-world range he is able to extract with the electric MPV. Let’s break down the exact numbers he achieved during the test.

During a recent 161 Km road trip, the tester put the electric MPV through a rigorous real-world range test. According to the user, the Vinfast VF MPV 7 provided a real-world range of 390-400 km in mixed driving conditions.

During the range test, the Vinfast VF MPV 7 returned exceptional results. Based on battery percentage drop during the high-speed expressway run, the tester achieved an impressive real-world highway range of 390-400 Km on full charge.  

But what about daily city commutes? As EVs provide more range in stop-and-go traffic due to regenerative braking. According to the tester, pure city driving could provide an extra 10% to 20% battery efficiency. This translates to a realistic city range of around 430 Km. These range figures are excellent for a big 7-seater, as it eradicates range anxiety, making intercity trips seamless by just a single charge.

In order to achieve the accurate numbers, the Vinfast VF MPV 7 was not driven sedately or hypermiled, instead the 161 Km journey was divided into 130 Km of wide-open expressways and about 30 Km of standard city traffic.

• Drive Mode: ECO Mode
• Regenerative Braking: Set to Medium
• Climate Control: AC was continually on.
• Cruising Speed: Maintained a constant 90-100 km/hr on the expressways.

Apart from the exceptional range, the VF MPV 7 has proved its metal by being extremely comfortable. The electric MPV is practical by allowing generous legroom, and excellent ride quality. 

It also comes loaded with features such as automatic HVAC with PM 2.5 filter and dedicated third-row AC controls and vents. The safety features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control, Roll Over Mitigation, and Hill Start Assist.
