Vinfast has submitted a design patent for the VF8 in India.
VinFast has filed for a design patent after introducing the second-gen VF8 in India. The patented design bears a strong resemblance to the model displayed in Vietnam, although there are few visual differences. However, VinFast has not confirmed whether it will be launching this SUV to India or not.
Vinfast VF8 Design Patent: What’s Expected?
The new look maintains the recognizable ‘V’ shaped lightbar and the segmented DRLs, featuring a blacked-out grille and air curtains on the bumper's sides and intakes positioned lower down. However, the patent images do not reveal the inclusion of a panoramic glass roof, which is present in the VF7 and VF6.
AdvertisementComing to the side, the patent design showcases a rising window line and character line in order to make the SUV look sporty along with contrasting black arches. There is also an addition of distinct alloy wheel design which is carried over from the Vietnamese-spec model.

The back gets V-shaped LED connected taillights, but the black bumper is slightly redesigned to give a differentiated look along with repositioned reflectors.
Vinfast VF8 Battery & Power
The Vietnamese VF8 is powered with a 60.13 kWh battery pack integrated with a front-axle mounted electric motor churning out 228 Hp and 330 Nm of peak torque. It provides an NEDC-claimed range of 500 Km on a single charge and takes around 30 mins to charge from 10-70%.

If Vinfast is planning to bring the VF8 here, it will be possibly positioned above the VF8 in the India’s lineup, considering its longer length at 4.7 meters, and could go against the likes of top-spec models of Mahindra XEV 9e and the Tata Harrier EV.
