The Volvo EC40 requires periodic maintenance checks after every 1 year or 20,000 Km, whichever comes first. The recommended Volvo EV service intervals and maintenance schedule includes: 

Subsequent Services: Scheduled after every 20,000 km or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Major Maintenance Items of EC40

  • Cabin Air Filter Replacement: It is replaced annually or every 15,000 Km, whichever comes first. However, going by the heavily polluted and dusty Indian city traffic, it is recommended to replace this earlier in order to maintain the air quality.  
  • High-Voltage Loop Coolant: Inspection and replacement of the anti-freeze and anti-corrosion properties of the cooling loop that preserves the main battery. 

Volvo EC40 Maintenance Cost Details

  • Brakes: Check up of brake fluid, brake pads, and servicing of brakes, discs, hoses and mechanical lines. 
  • Brake Fluid Flush: It is flushed and replaced after every 2 years. However, the high humidity levels in India cause degradation of brake fluid faster. 
  • Auxiliary System: Inspection of the 12V auxiliary battery, which is crucial for powering car’s electronics. 
  • Software Updates: Diagnostic checks through Volvo Support onboard computer in order to update the latest over-the-air system optimisation. 
  • Chassis & Suspension Inspection: Checking of the CV joint bellows, drive shafts, and steering wear.
