Ather is set to launch its first mass-market electric scooter built on the new EL platform during Community Day 2026.

Ather Energy will be introducing its first electric scooter underpinned by EL platform, specifically for mass-market buyers at the Ather Community Day 2026. The annual event will be organised on August 29 in Bengaluru and will also introduce new updates on software, charging infrastructure and overall ownership ecosystem.

Ather New Affordable model will make the company’s official entry into the affordable electric scooter segment, by targeting huge consumers ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.25 lakh price bracket.

Future Ather Models to be based on EL Platform 

The EL Platform is Ather’s first all-electric platform since the launch of 450 architecture. The company asserts that this platform has been designed from the ground up, emphasizing scalability, operational efficiency, and adaptability, thereby guaranteeing its ability to accommodate multiple future products across diverse segments.

The first affordable electric product based on the EL platform will be an important product for Ather’s presence in the affordable segment. Currently, the company’s lineup includes performance-oriented Ather 450 Range and family-specific Rizta lineup. 

Thus Ather’s strategic move to enter into the affordable segment will enhance its market presence by positioning its products more competitively with rivals targeting the affordable electric scooter segment.

What to Expect? 

Ather has not revealed the exact technical specifications of the upcoming electric scooter, however its positioning suggests that it could sit below the Ather 450 lineup, as it is specifically designed for mainstream buyers transitioning towards electric vehicles. 

However, the exact technical specifications regarding the scooter like design, battery pack options, features and launch timeline are expected to be announced before the Ather Community Day 2026 scheduled for August 29.
