Chinese manufacturer, Chery has registered a design patent for their Exeed EX7 REEV (Range Extender Electric Vehicle). This has been reported after the Chery Exeed Exlantix ET was being recently spied testing on the Indian roads, thus suggesting JSW-Chery's plans for introducing their SUV for the Indian market.

The model comes with a range extender technology, where the combustion engine does not provide power to the wheels directly, instead it generates electricity to charge the battery, which then transfers power to the electric motor.
