Chery Jaecoo J7 Caught Testing in India – Is a Plug-In Hybrid SUV for JSW in the Works?
The Jaecoo J7 electric SUV has been spotted testing in the roads of India. The electric SUV was spied testing on a flat-bed truck without any camouflage, showcasing its final design. JSW Motors is all set to enter India with an entire portfolio of NEVs (New Energy Vehicles) in partnership with Chery Automobile.
Jaecoo J7 Design
The Jaecoo J7 could be the first electric car under this alliance as in terms of visual styling, the Jaecoo J7 features the exact same silhouette to Range Rover Sport with a boxy yet premium shape. It measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width and 1,680 mm in height with a significant wheelbase of 2,672 mm. The SUV will feature 19-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 210 mm.
AdvertisementIn Global markets like the UK, Jaecoo J7 is positioned as a premium electric SUV. This will make it compete against rivals such as Hyundai Tucson, BMW iX1, and Citroen C5 Aircross.

On the inside, the Jaecoo J7 comes with a variety of advanced features such as 14.8-inch portrait touchscreen, dual wireless chargers, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, 540-Degree Camera system, panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and heads-up display.

However, the launch of Jaecoo J7 in India is not finalised yet but if it launches then it can disrupt the mid-size SUV segment with its advanced plug-in hybrid technology and aggressive pricing structure implemented in the international markets. So it will be interesting to see whether this electric SUV will be launched in India or not?
