Ferrari has finally revealed the name of its first electric car, as it will be described as Luce (Meaning light in Italian). Apart from this, Ferrari also revealed the retro-themed interior that comes equipped with physical buttons and knobs. Ferrari collaborated with LoveFrom, which is a design company in order to design the interior of the Luce.

Originally defined as Elettrica in the development phase, the Ferrari Luce will be introduced fully in May 2026. Ferrari has totally implemented retro interior styling and introduced the analogue dials for their most technologically advanced car. According to Ferrari design chief, Flavio Manzoni, the cabin is unique and prestigious to the industry.

He also added further by saying, “The main idea behind using this interior was that if the power source is electric, then using the digital futuristic interface is totally nonsensical.

While designing interiors, we wanted to witness an interface which was more traditional and engaging and that’s why we combined the most powerful parts of analogue displays with the digital ones in order to make a balanced interior.”

Key Elements of Ferrari Luce’s Interior

One of the most interesting highlights is the three-spoke steering wheel which is heavily based on the wooden thin-grip steering wheels from the legendary Ferraris of the 1950-60s. It also comes equipped with two control pods with various physical buttons for using the indicators, wipers, cruise control and customising the bumpy road setting.

10-Inch Touchscreen: There is also an inclusion of a knob to control the powertrain settings, which helps the driver to switch between the Range, Tour, and Performance Modes. Ferrari has also thought about the modern times and has smartly blended an iPad-like 10-inch touchscreen that is movable by the grab handle placed at the front.

It is designed in a way that it can be also used as a palm rest while using the screen. There is also an addition of toggle switches at the bottom of the screen to customize the media and climate. At the top, there sits a clock with physical dials and a digital face that can also become a compass or a lap timer.

According to Ferrari, they have taken the most amount of time to develop this kind of interior which brings back the era of traditional interiors as it is perfectly crafted meticulously.

12.5-inch Instrument Cluster: Ferrari has also provided a substantial 12.5-inch instrument cluster which showcases three analogue dials integrated in a black casing. However, this entire binnacle is actually an OLED screen crafted from eight different layers.

  • The first two layers are separate Samsung OLED screens that comprises the three-dial layout, as the middle one shows the speed with a physical needle, while the other two can be changed based on powertrain setting selected by the driver.
  • The black surrounds displays the warning lights, turn-by-turn navigation and shifting aid that is standard at the top of modern Ferrari steering wheels.
