The Haryana Government urges auto component manufacturers to prepare for the electric vehicle opportunity in India.

India’s EV penetration is significantly rising and currently stands at around 8.5%, which is set to reach 30% by 2030. Thus the component manufacturers who will move in early are expected to get the most benefits. This message was passed by ASSOCHAM Northern Region’s EV Ancillaries and Auto Components Conclave 2026 held in Gurugram. 

The conclave was addressed by the Additional Development Commissioner, MSME DFO, Karnal, Government of Haryana, Mr. Sanjeev Chawla. He expressed this and said, “Around 8.5% EV penetration translates to nearly 50 lakh vehicles on Indian roads and will jump by 30% by 2030, which is just four years away.”

This has provided massive opportunities across suspension systems, battery management systems, switches, harnesses, and BLDC motors. He also suggested investing in innovation, initiating a proper R&D and then filing for a patent which will be heavily backed by the government, as they will be offering several grants and benefits in order to support the industry. 

According to Sanjeev, the real growth will stimulate when there will be continuous innovation and strong focus on quality through manufacturing and effectively utilising Industry 4.0 tools. The conclave was attended by various experts, researchers, financial institution representatives and various technical organizations. 

Thus there were various discussions on MSME financing, export competitiveness, localisation, technology adoption, skilling, and sustainable manufacturing.
