IAN Group has invested a Seed round of Rs 27.4 crore in e-TRNL energy.
IAN Group has invested a seed funding of Rs 27.4 crore in e-TRNL energy from its second venture capital fund called as IAN Alpha Fund. The Bengaluru-based company will be developing battery cells by reconstructing core cell architecture and manufacturing techniques by enhancing the process standards, improving safety, initiating faster charging and increasing the lifespan of batteries.
e-TRNL Energy boasts a specialized 20,000 sq. ft. research and development facility located in Bengaluru, where they have successfully registered two patents pertaining to their battery cell advancements. The company is currently working on product validation and enhancing the domestic production capacity, with a vision to install a 250 MWh pilot facility by 2027.
This investment will be further allocated towards the development of indigenous battery cell design and enhancing the manufacturing platform to reduce the dependence on imported cells and expanding advanced energy storage capacity in India.
