JSW Group launches AMPSTAR brand, marking its entry into commercial mobility.

JSW Greentech Limited, the commercial electric brand of the JSW Group has launched its brand AMPSTAR, under which it will design, manufacture and sell electric buses and trucks in India. The launch is the group’s official entry into the commercial mobility market. 

JSW Group AMPSTER Brand Details 

The brand will be promoting itself as AMPSTAR, powered by JSW. AMPSTAR has been designed as a full-stack commercial mobility providing the entire customer journey. The brand will also cover charging infrastructure, operating solutions, financing options, and after-sales services, so that commercial operators can transition to EVs with full confidence. 

The company also gives a variety of options to customers across diverse power configurations ranging from 150 kW to 500 kW. Customers will also be able to get pricing flexibility as they have options to choose between outright purchase, leasing, Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and other ownership and operating models. 

The AMPSTAR vehicles will be manufactured at India’s largest EV manufacturing facility spread across 90 acres at AURIC, Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra and will be spread across 90 acres at AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra with the annual capacity of 15,000 electric buses and trucks. 

The plant will also feature India’s first pre-treatment and electro-deposition (PT-ED) process for bus manufacturing, which is a technology widely implemented in advanced automotive markets, along with automated truck-cabin and an integrated battery ecosystem. 

All these vehicles will be engineered locally for Indian operating conditions. JSW Greentech has also developed base logic softwares and algorithms for the entire electric drivetrain, which allows the vehicles to meet specific customer requirements. 

The vehicle’s design also includes a double cooling battery system and a high monocoque chassis, specifically designed for Indian terrains and road conditions.
