Keto Motors Launches Urbanova KE9, Marking Its Entry into India's Commercial Electric Bus Sector.

Keto Motors has introduced its first commercial electric bus, the Urbanova KE9, marking the company’s entry into India’s commercial electric bus segment. The company also provided the vehicle to its operating partner during the launch event. 

Keto Motors was founded in 2018 and has its headquarters situated at Hyderabad. The company engineers commercial electric vehicles. At the start of 2026, Keto Motors was officially listed as a public listed company following a reverse alliance with Taaza International limited. 

Urbanova KE9 9-Meter Electric Bus Technical Specs 

• Length: 8,895 mm | Width: 2,532 mm | Height: 3,189 mm
• Seating Capacity: Up to 31 passengers. 
• Floor Height: 900 mm
• Claimed Operating Range: More than 150 Km under fully loaded conditions. 
• Top Speed: Up to 80 km/hr. 
• It comes with various features like electro-hydraulic power steering, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Regenerative Braking, and Disc Brakes. The Urbanova KE9 has also received CMVR Type approval certification from the Global Automotive Research Center (GARC). 

According to Keto Motors, it has also developed a KETO Connected, which is a digital fleet management platform in joint partnership with ROQIT. This platform provides vehicle health monitoring, battery analytics, remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and fleet operations management. 

The company has also entered into a strategic alliance with TRON Energy Technology for Taiwan for liquid-cooled battery technology, battery management system (BMS), connected vehicle technologies, powertrain and chassis engineering.  

In December 2025, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana in order to invest approximately Rs 300 crore in order to expand its manufacturing facility at Jadcherla and develop a complete new facility at the Telangana EV Mobility Valley. 

The company stated that this investment will help in the production of 9-meter electric buses and is expected to generate more than 2,000 direct jobs over the period of three years.
