The Range Rover Electric is now available for booking through JLR, with a range of up to 600km.

The bookings for the Range Rover Electric have officially started in India from today. The pre-bookings are available for Range Rover Electric with a standard wheelbase in Autobiography and long-wheelbase in SV, SV Ultra, and SV Black editions. The company has also started bookings for the standard wheelbase Range Rover Electric first edition. 

The Range Rover Electric is the second electric SUV in the Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) lineup after the Jaguar i-Pace. However, the Jaguar i-Pace is strictly manufactured according to the contractual-basis, as the Range Rover Electric will be the first electric SUV to be commercially produced in-house at JLR. 

Range Rover Electric: Battery & Range Specs 

The all-electric Range Rover is powered by an 800V 118.5 kWh battery pack providing a substantial range of up to 600 Km on a single charge (as per WLTP cycle). The brand also states that the battery generates 551 Hp of maximum power output and 850 Nm of peak torque. It can also accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in just 4.5 seconds. 

The Range Rover Electric also supports 350 kW DC fast charger, as the large battery can be charged from 10-80% in just 22 minutes, while a 10-minute top-up can add a total of 220 Km of range. 

Range Rover Electric Design 

Visually, JLR has kept the design similar with its ICE version rather than making major design changes. The EV has specific design cues such as aero-optimised front grille and wheels. JLR has also not mentioned the electric lettering anywhere on the body in order to distinguish it with its ICE sibling. 

Thus the Range Rover Electric looks quite similar to the ICE model as explained by the Range Rover's global production manager Rachel Hogg, stating that, "We don't need to camouflage any of our prototypes."
