Kia Syros EV spotted in India before its 2026 debut.
The Kia Syros EV has been spotted testing on Indian roads just before its launch and features some design differences as compared to the ICE model. The upcoming EV will be underpinned on the Insta-based K1 platform and will be integrated with an FWD setup.
The Syros EV is expected to launch in India this year and will be Kia’s most affordable electric car on sale positioned below the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
Kia Syros EV: Key Design Differences
The test model was heavily camouflaged but visually it will retain the Syros’s boxy design with a charging flap placed on the front left quarter panel which indicates it as a subcompact EV version. The alloy wheels are carried over from the ICE’s 17-inch units featuring neon brake calipers just like the newly launched Seltos.

The rear bumper is quite different with a combination of body-coloured and black panels, but the camouflage has hidden it very well. The roof rails are also changed, in order to improve the overall handling of the car.
However, the Syros EV will be featuring the same vertically placed LED headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), the front bumpers with ADAS sensors and a 360-Degree Camera with same LED tail-lights similar to the ICE Syros.
Kia Syros EV Expected Powertrains
According to sources, the upcoming Kia Syros EV will be offered with a Front-wheel drive setup and will be equipped with a 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options with a claimed range of 369 Km on a single charge.
