The Tesla Roadster is scheduled to launch on October 1, after experiencing a decade of delays.

Tesla is finally all set to launch its much anticipated next-generation Roadster as confirmed by CEO Elon Musk that the electric car will be introduced on October 1. This announcement has come after almost 9 years after Tesla first displayed the model. 

Tesla Roadster October Launch 

Tesla’s official account on X posted “Go for Lunch” alongside a graphic featuring the October 1 date. Musk responded to the post with, “New Tesla Roadster Unveil 10.01.”

The upcoming event will showcase the first details of the production-ready version of the Roadster after years of uncertainty regarding the launch. 

SpaceX Technology may Debut

Apart from the introduction of Roadster, there could be some other big revelations as well. According to information reported, Tesla may demonstrate a limited-edition Roadster attached with cold-gas thrusters developed with SpaceX. 

The reported demonstration is expected to feature SpaceX’s test facility situated in McGregor, Texas. If included in the unveiling, the system could add another layer to Tesla’s long-running effort to position the Roadster as a high-performance EV.

From SportsCar to HyperCar 

Tesla originally introduced the next-generation roadster in 2017 and announced that deliveries would start in 2020. The programme has faced constant delays and changes in vision. 

The Roadster has also deviated from the original concept based on hardware derived from Model S Plaid. The manufacturer has changed the car’s vision from an all-new carbon-fibre hypercar rather than a sports car built around Tesla conventional components.
