Tesla Model Y sales in India have surpassed 600 units, with 115 of those delivered in July.

Tesla India has recorded the highest ever monthly sales in the month of July 2026 by selling over 115 Model Y SUVs as per Vahan data. The American EV automaker’s previous milestone stood at 69 units, achieved in September and December 2025. This strong sales figure is due to Tesla’s price cut on Model Y in June, which reduced its starting price to Rs 50.89 lakh (Ex-Showroom).

Tesla delivered a total of 115 Model Y in July, which is a significant growth by 203% from 38 units in June. Thus the reduction of Rs 9 lakh has made it more competitive in the luxury EV segment. Before this, the demand for Model Y was quite limited. 

Tesla Emerges as 3rd Largest EV Brand 

The impressive growth in July has provided Tesla a 16% market share of the 736 luxury electric passenger vehicles sold during the month, placing it just behind BMW India (390 Units) and Mercedes-Benz India (174 Units), but ahead of Volvo Auto India (51 Units). 

As the deliveries started in September 2025 until July 2026, the brand’s sales accounted for 578 units, providing it a 8% market share of the 6,285 luxury EVs sold during the same period. Apart from this, the company also sold 60 vehicles in the first 16 days of August, as the Tesla Model Y sales crossed 600 units.
