The VF7 is the brand’s inaugural vehicle to be sold in the highly competitive Indian market along with the VF6, which has been positioned below its bigger sibling. The company has a variety of electric cars in its global lineup, but after careful consideration of the Indian market, the brand decided to launch the VF7 for India, in order to establish their presence across the country.

Let’s analyse the detailed features of Vinfast’s flagship SUV, so that users can get a better idea of how it could be compared with its competition and is it worth buying over other brands which are already established in the market?

2025 Vinfast VF7 Signature V Design Language

Visually, the VF7 is designed with a signature moustache like ‘V’ face which distinguishes the electric SUV from the front and dips at the center beneath the company’s logo, thus giving a spotlight to the V logo. However, looking at the front, the VF7 and VF6 have a striking resemblance in terms of looks.

The looks of the VF7 is complimented by brushed metal blades situated at the front of the air dam, followed by the concave designed bumper which adds to the unique looks of the SUV, differentiating it from its competitors.

The company has also provided muscular surfacing all over to the sides of the car, in order to give a bold yet robust look. VF7 also features flush door handles that give a neat look especially when viewed from the side.

To tackle Indian roads, Vinf has equipped the VF7 with 19-inch wheels and has given a substantial ground clearance at 190 mm, which is more than enough to glide over rough potholes and terrains. In terms of dimensions, the VF7 is a fairly long SUV measuring at 4.5 meters with a significant wheelbase at 2.8 meters, with usually trimmed out front and rear overhangs.

The rear is designed with a sculpted tail-gate and features slim windscreen and vertically placed LED tail-lamps. The company took care of overall exteriors and just visually looking at the VF7, it’s clearly evident that the company has taken care of detailing and has given modern aesthetics to the car’s overall appearance. Thus the car has modern appeal and is not like a traditional boxy SUV.

2025 Vinfast VF7 Features & Practicality

The exterior proportions surely doesn’t make the VF7 look bigger on roads but it is definitely roomier on the inside as the company has given tons of storage spaces. Users get the functionality of a powered tailgate with a humongous 537-litres of boot space, which is more than enough for your weekend travel with families and friends.

One aspect of the SUV, which impressed us is the amount of rear seat space in the VF7, as it is exclusively designed for chauffeur-preferred owners, as there is a considerable amount of leg room at the back making long journeys comfortable. However, due to high flooring, you’re seated with knees up, which can start feeling uncomfortable when you stretch your legs.

The VF7 houses a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment that is placed at the center of the dashboard providing all the necessary information regarding driving data and entertainment screen. What’s interesting was that the center screen was angled to the extreme right facing the driver, which can be sometimes distracting for the driver thus hampering the attention of the driver especially at high speeds.

However we were shocked when we noticed that the company has not provided a digital driver’s display at the back of the steering wheel, as all the controls are provided on the single 12.9-inch touchscreen, which is a major cost cutting done by the company.

Indian drivers have a habit of checking the driving statistics attached at the back of the steering wheel, so Vinfast could have provided this screen, as the placement of a single screen in the whole dashboard makes the interiors look boring.

FEATURES: The top-spec variant in the VF7 lineup, called Plus is called as a high priority model by the company as it comes with all the bells and whistles. There are a plethora of features such as rear-seat recline, wireless phone charger, vegan leather, ventilated seats and one litre-bottles located at each door for enhanced practicality.

  • Safety features include 7-airbags, radar-based ADAS suite with Level 2 Automation. This has been provided by Vinfast to achieve a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.
  • There is also an inclusion of dual zone climate control and a big glass roof to make the interiors roomy. There are quite few physical controls on the steering wheel to handle various functions of the car, although this is quite common in today’s modern cars but the lack of physical buttons make the screen less intuitive to use, as the icons and graphics on screen are quite small, so it requires effort to control the buttons, while on the move.

2025 Vinfast VF7 Performance & Handling

Vinfast has only provided a single 70.8 kWh LFP battery size for the VF7 and it comes with two powertrain configurations, a single-motor FWD and dual-motor AWD. This battery can be charged via 7.2 kW AC charger or a CCS2 DC fast charger.

POWER: The VF7 AWD model generates power from a front-mounted motor that produces a stronger 310 Nm of torque and peak power of 204 HP. The dual-motor version is equipped with dual motors on the rear axle generating 350 HP and 500 Nm of torque, which achieve 0-100 in just 5.8 seconds.

In real-world conditions, the VF7 was quite fast at throttle inputs, spinning the wheels from low speeds. However power starts to fade out after 120 km/hr, but it could run at triple digit speeds quite smoothly. The good news is that it rides well on low speeds, making it an ideal city commuter.

Refinement levels are considerably smoother, but at higher speeds there is a constant wine sound coming from the cabin as of power being generated from the motors. The braking is pretty strong and stops the VF7 with absolutely no drama.

HANDLING: The longer wheelbase of the VF7 ensures a greater stability at high speeds and a sharper handling in the corners, which is pretty evident when driving in hilly areas. The specific drive modes calibrate the steering into hard or soft in order to make the steering optimised for particular driving conditions.

Thus there is a great sense of security while maneuvering the car at high speeds and is pretty much at par with European cars. Vinfast has also smartly changed the tyre section by replacing the 20-inch wheels to 19-inch wheels, which makes the car’s suspension a bit softer when riding on the potholes.
