Hyundai AllDayEnergy: Global EV V2X Service Launched

Hyundai Motor Group is all set to launch AllDayEnergy, its all-new global Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy services. AllDayEnergy combines all the V2X services together under a single identity, thus providing customers with consistent and reliable service across different markets.

The service will include V1G smart charging before including Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H). The Group will first release the AllDayEnergy in the UK through the Kia App in the second quarter of 2026, and after that they will be expanding it to the Europe, US, and Korea markets.

What is AllDayEnergy? 

AllDayEnergy is the Group’s unified global services that connect electric vehicle (EV) batteries with homes and electricity grids. V2X technology enables bidirectional energy flow between an electric vehicle and the grid. 

This transforms the EV into a power source and acts as a mobile energy storage system, rather than simply consuming electricity through charging. This helps the customers to charge their vehicles when electricity costs are lower and then use the stored energy later or supply it to an external system. 

This also helps the customer to keep the charging costs in check depending on the market and service type, thus reducing charging costs, household energy needs and energy programs by electric utilities.

AllDayEnergy Services 

AllDayEnergy will combine several types of energy services:

V1G: It handles the timing of vehicle charging in response to real-time electricity prices, grid availability and customer preferences. 

V2G: It ensures that the EV battery returns energy to the grid when required. 

V2H: It transfers the energy stored in the EV battery to support household electricity needs, which also includes backup power during power outages. 

The Hyundai Group is already running the V2G technology at pilot stage in Korea. In the US, it has deployed V2H services that provide emergency household backup power during events such as major wildfires. The company has also introduced V2G in the Netherlands that optimizes vehicle charging in response to highly volatile electricity prices.
