Kia has been spotted testing its upcoming Syros EV on Indian roads, providing a glimpse of what its electric version could look like. It is expected that Kia could introduce the Syros EV sometime in January to March 2026, however the exact launch date is unknown and Kia will be selling the electric counterpart with its ICE siblings, thus creating a variety of powertrain options for consumers.
The Syros EV is constructed on the same platform as Hyundai Inster EV and is expected to be equipped with advanced features and is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 15 Lakh and Rs 20 Lakh. Kia is estimated to attract a sales number of 50,000-60,000 units by 2026, thus making its own share in the Indian EV market.
Kia Syros EV Spy Shots Details
Looking at the spy shots, it is very difficult to know the exact design highlights as the car is heavily camouflaged, however it retains its similar boxy design with particularly exposed headlights and tail-lights, and it's pretty evident that it's an EV as it features electric alloy wheel designs.
There is also an inclusion of a radar unit located on the front grille and confirmed that it will be coming with the ADAS suite. It also includes outside rear view mirrors, parking sensors and a tall imposing greenhouse area located above the beltline, all of which are not covered in the camouflage.
Another interesting part is the brake calipers which are designed with lime green shade present at the front wheels, which Kia only offers with performance focussed vehicles like the EV9 GT selling in global markets. Located at the front right fender, the car features a charging port.
However there was no glimpse of the interiors so we could let our imaginations take the charge, however the rest of the features and safety equipment are carried over from its petrol counterpart.
These include dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, reclining, sliding and ventilated second row of seats integrated with Level 2 ADAS and a 360-Degree Camera Setup.
Kia Syros EV Battery & Performance
The technical specifications of the Syros EV have yet to be revealed by the company, but it is clear that the Syros EV will be equipped with a front-wheel drive configuration. Additionally, the Syros EV has the potential to be powered by the 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery options available from Hyundai Inster EV.
Looking at the performance of Inster EV, it provides a significant range of 300 Km on 42 kWh battery pack and a longer 355 Km with the bigger 49 kWh battery pack.
