The new Mercedes Vision Iconic concept offers a glimpse into the future of the S Class.

Mercedes Benz just showed the glimpse of its Vision Iconic coupe concept with a unique yet imposing bold Art inspired design, and also unveiled the next generation S-Class which is scheduled for a global introduction in 2028. This two-door concept marks the beginning of coupe centric designs and convertible to the company’s upcoming lineup in future.
The Mercedes Vision Concept was displayed at the brand’s design house, situated in Shanghai, China and will be equipped with advanced technological features.
2025 Mercedes Vision Iconic Concept Design
Visually, the new design features Mercedes bold illuminated grille which has been based on the prestigious vintage models, just like the 1900 Mercedes 35 PS and 1956 300Sc, and this has resulted to be one of the most visually appealing design inserts of the upcoming luxury coupe.
By looking at the new grille design placed on the GLC EV, but the coupe comes with a lit-up three-pointed star placed at the center, as the coupe keeps it above the nose. There is also an addition of slim, pointed headlights placed on the star motif.
Looking at the side, the coupe features a long bonnet and swept-back cabin which are directly inspired by the Mercedes coupes of the traditional 1930s. The sides are also complimented by huge seven-spoke, aero optimised wheels, curved vents present on the fenders, and polished brass door handles.
Mercedes has also done a smart integration of chrome, especially at the sides, covering the area under doors and framing the windows. These thoughtful chrome touches overall adds to the luxury quotient of the coupe’s overall premium looks. Mercedes has utilised the sloping roofline straight from the 1954 300 SL, which is further styled by slim LED tail-lights.
The Mercedes logo at the back will not be illuminated like the ones at the front and is integrated with a thin chrome strip which is attached below the plain bumper. As the coupe is said to come with advanced features, Mercedes is currently testing a nanoparticle-based paint which can be applied to the electric vehicle’s body, just like a water-thin paste.
What this paint will do is it will absorb enough sunlight and use it as a power source to provide an additional 12,000 Km of range per year under ideal circumstances. However, the coating will be recyclable, and will not utilise rare earth metals and will generate power even when the car is stationary.
2025 Mercedes Vision Iconic Concept Interior
The Vision Iconic’s interior provides a lounge-like experience rather than a regular car cabin. The centerpiece of the dashboard houses floating glass structure defined as Zeppelin, which combines analogue parts with digital displays. There is also an inclusion of a wide screen that runs across the dashboard, followed by one of the four clocks transforming as an AI assistant, such a cool addition!!
The front bench seat gets deep blue velvet upholstery, which is designed to provide a comfortable experience for the occupants. Mercedes has enriched the heritage inserts by providing the same traditional four-spoke steering wheel which has a Mercedes logo embossed inside the glass sphere, with the floor covered with straw marquetry.
2025 Mercedes Vision Iconic Advanced Driving Tech
Mercedes has integrated the Level 2 ADAS features with the prototype, which can handle the urban driving, thus assisting the steering and acceleration in urban conditions. As per Mercedes, the car is developed to support ADAS Level 4, which is so advanced that the car takes full control of the driving functions, allowing the drivers to relax and even take a nap, while the car is on the drive.
Once it reaches the destination, it can also automatically park itself without human intervention. The concept will also feature steer-by-wire technology, which means there is no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels.
This setup will eventually lead to quicker, more sharper controls and precise manoeuvring, followed by a lot of space in the cabin. This smart combination of rear-axle steering will make this long coupe more agile on the twisted roads, thus making it more flexible and easier to park.
