The Piaggio Ape WavE has been introduced with a range of 140 Km, priced at Rs 2.55 lakh.

The Ape WavE, Piaggio Vehicles' newly launched electric three-wheeler, marks an expansion of its lineup in India. It will be positioned in the cost-effective L3 electric passenger vehicle segment. The new model has been introduced at a starting price of Rs 2.55 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Pune).

The Piaggio Ape WavE has been specifically developed for urban and semi-urban passengers exclusively for fleet owners and drivers looking to transition to electric mobility by keeping their ownership costs low. According to Piaggio, the new model is a perfect combination of comfort, durability and reliability, which is majorly found with larger L5 electric passenger vehicles.

Piaggio Ape WavE Range and Specs

POWER: Equipped with a 5.4 kWh battery pack, the Ape WavE utilizes an electric motor that delivers a peak power of 3 kW and a peak torque of 25 Nm. This electric three-wheeler can reach a top speed of 40 km/hr and can manage inclines of up to 19%.

Piaggio has stated that the new Ape WavE provides a certified range of 140 Km on a single charge with an expected real-world range of around 110 Km. The batteries can be charged in approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Piaggio’s EV Lineup 

The launch of the Ape WavE is the latest addition to Piaggio’s electric three-wheeler lineup in India. The company entered the electric passenger mobility market with the Ape E-City swappable model and has a current portfolio comprising Ape E-City FX, Ape E-City Maxx and Ape E-City Ultra. 

The Chairman and Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd expressed this and said that the new model will be providing a perfect balance between acquisition cost, operating savings and passenger experience. 

He further added that Ape WavE has been specifically developed to provide lower ownership costs without sacrificing on comfort and safety.
