Yamaha Electric Scooter has new details that have just been revealed. 

Yamaha has recently filed for a design registration in Japan showcasing the production model of the Yamaha’s upcoming electric scooter. The design patent reveals the overall silhouette as it derives inspiration from the Ray 125, with several design changes and different mechanical specifications. 

New Yamaha Electric Scooter: Technical Specs 

One of the most important specs revealed about the upcoming electric scooter is the drivetrain. This scooter will be integrated with a centrally mounted electric motor (Like on the EC-06) that sends power to the rear wheel via belt drive. 

According to the registration, the battery is placed below the seat, as the design suggests that it could feature swappable batteries. It also reveals the rear suspension which includes twin shock absorbers which are mounted on the swingarm, thus integrating the battery compartment under the seat. The scooter will also come with disc brakes, a telescopic front fork and a long-piece seat.

Other details comprise unique headlight integrated with two rectangular LED units highlighting a centrally positioned V-shaped daytime running lamp (DRL). The tail-lights will come with an angular design, while the inside of the front apron comes with multiple storage compartments in order to enhance practicality. 

As per design, it is also expected to come with keyless ignition and seat access and the inclusion of a small TFT display which is purely visible on the patent design. 

New Yamaha Electric Scooter India Launch 

Yamaha has not revealed the exact launch timeline for its upcoming electric scooter as currently it is just a Japanese design registration at this stage. Currently, Yamaha’s electric lineup consists of EC-06, which is based on the River Indie and the recently launched Aerox-E.
