JSW MG Motors is all set to launch their much awaited Hector Hawk SUV on August 28. It will be the first model to be underpinned by the company's new ADAPT platform and will be available with all-electric (EV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. 

JSW MG Hector Hawk: What’s New? 

The Hector Hawk is heavily based on globally selling Wuling Starlight 560, which measures 4.7 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width, and 1.7 meters in height.

The SUV was also spied testing on Indian roads, with spy shots revealing rectangular LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) at the top and bottom, a blanked-off grille, wraparound LED tail-lamps, roof-mounted spoiler, and a charging port situated at the left rear fender.

If we talk about the interiors, the SUV is expected to come with a minimalist dashboard with 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 50W wireless phone charger, 6-Speaker sound system and automatic climate control with rear AC vents. 

The safety features comprises 6 airbags as standard, a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-hold assist, electronic parking brake, a rear parking camera with sensors, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). 

Hector Hawk SUV Powertrain Options

EV: The all-electric version is expected to be powered by a 69.2 kWh battery pack paired to a 201 Hp, 310 Nm front-mounted electric motor, with a claimed range of 530 Km (CLTC).

Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): The PHEV version is expected to integrate a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 20.5 kWh battery pack and an electric motor, generating a total combined output of 195 Hp and peak torque of 230 Nm, with an all-electric range of 125 Km. 

Hector Hawk SUV Expected price

The Hector Hawk is expected to be launched in the price range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. However, the official pricing will be unveiled at its launch on August 28, 2026. As per JSW MG Motors, they will be focussing on enhancing the presence of EVs and PHEVs across the country. 

The Hector Hawk will be positioned above the MG India’s electric lineup. The EV version is likely to go against the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9S, while the PHEV version could compete with XUV 7XO and Tata Safari.
