The Complete EV Subsidy Breakdown

The government is providing direct subsidies on the ex-factory cost of the vehicle. Below we have mentioned how much exactly you will save along different categories. 

Maharashtra EV subsidy 2026

  • Electric Two-Wheelers (e-2W L1 & L2): Enjoy 10% of the base cost, capped at Rs 10,000, which is strictly limited to 1,00,000 vehicles. 
  • Electric Three-Wheelers (Passenger L5M): Users can get 10% incentive up to Rs 30,000, which is limited for 15,000 vehicles. 
  • Electric Three-Wheelers (Goods L5N): An exceptional 15% incentive up to Rs 30,000 in order to boost green deliveries. 
  • Personal Electric Cars (e-4W M1 Non-Transport): The private buyers are eligible for 10% incentive, capped at a massive Rs 1,50,000.

  • Commercial Electric Cars (e-4W M1 Transport): Commercial fleet operators can get 15% incentive, which amounts to Rs 2,00,000. 
  • Light Goods Carrier (e-4W N1): Enjoy 15% incentive which amounts up to Rs 1,00,000. 
  • Heavy Commercial (Buses & Trucks N2, N3): e-Buses and heavy goods vehicles can enjoy up to Rs 20,00,000 in incentives. 
  • Agricultural Tractors: Farmers are eligible for 15% incentive up to Rs 1,50,000.

Establishing a Future-Proof Ecosystem

The EV policies are generally made to eradicate the range anxiety as the state is making it compulsory to install charging stations at every 25 Km interval along the highway. For urban commuters, all new residential must be developed with 100% of the parking spaces to support EV charging. Meanwhile, commercial buildings will need to allocate at least 50% of the total parking spaces to EV charging. 

Maharashtra has also introduced a ‘Digital Battery Passport’ to track the make and manufacturing of the EV battery which also includes real-time health status, and end-of-life diagnostics. 

How to apply for EV Subsidy in Maharashtra 

There is a complete procedure in order to claim your EV subsidy, which is digital now and does not require any agent intervention.  

1. Buy Approved: Buy an electric vehicle from a state-certified registered dealer. 

2. Apply Online: Mention your EV details to the official state EV portal within 90 days of registration.

3. Submit Docs: Upload all the official documents of your EV like invoice, RC, battery registration certificate, and Aadhar card of the owner.  

4. Receive Funds: Check for your subsidy and review it once it is transferred to your bank account within 30 working days of applying for the claim.
